Basketball Game Preview: Taylorville Tornadoes vs. Mt. Zion Braves

The Taylorville Tornadoes will face off against the Mt. Zion Braves at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Taylorville is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Taylorville is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 56 points on Friday, they were much more limited against Lincoln on Saturday. They fell 40-30 to the Railsplitters. The game marked the Tornadoes' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Mt. Zion was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 53-48 to Bradley-Bourbonnais.

Mt. Zion's defeat dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Taylorville, their loss dropped their record down to 12-12.

Taylorville ended up a good deal behind Mt. Zion in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, losing 68-50. Can Taylorville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
