Baseball Recap: St. Vincent de Paul Victorious

While St. Vincent de Paul's win against Point Arena wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Mustangs had just enough and edged out the Pirates 6-5 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mustangs have posted since April 21st.

Will Hankins made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.

In other batting news, Tyler Chelew was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Harrison Barley also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

St. Vincent de Paul's record now sits at 5-19. As for Point Arena, the defeat snapped their winning streak at nine games and leaves them with a 10-5 record.

As of now, neither St. Vincent de Paul nor the Pirates have any future games scheduled.
