Softball Recap: Morristown-Hamblen West Comes Up Short

If Morristown-Hamblen West was riding high fresh off their 9-1 takedown of Sevier County last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Trojans fell just short of the Greeneville Greene Devils by a score of 8-7 on Saturday. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Greene Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Cadence Beaver led a balanced group of hitters, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kara Dyke, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Morristown-Hamblen West now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Greeneville, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-10 record this season.

Morristown-Hamblen West will face off against David Crockett at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Greeneville, they will head out to face off against Grainger at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
