Basketball Recap: Hamilton Heights Huskies vs. New Castle Trojans
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Hamilton Heights Huskies walked away with it. They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat the Trojans 64-9 on the road. Hamilton Heights is really starting to get used to good results now that the team's won 11 straight.
Leading Hamilton Heights to victory were Ella Hickok and Camryn Runner. Hickok scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Runner scored 19 points along with five steals. Runner has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last 22 times she's played. Katie Brown was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, New Castle struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Hamilton Heights racked up 13 assists.
Hamilton Heights' win bumped their record up to 21-2. As for New Castle, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-21.
Hamilton Heights will square off against the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Frankton is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. New Castle does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
