Baseball Recap: Borah Takes a Loss

Borah lost against Capital on April 3rd, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Lions fell 7-3 to the Golden Eagles.

Borah got a good showing from Jack Meimann, who pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. That's the fewest hits Meimann has allowed since back in March.

At the plate, Ryan Gross made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Keijen Shearer, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Borah has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season. As for Capital, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-13.

Borah does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Capital, they will square off against Ridgevue at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
