Softball Recap: Holy Cross Makes It Six in a Row at Home

Holy Cross had won six straight at home, but on Monday they bumped their record up to 15-11-1 to make it seven. They skirted past the Ryle Raiders 3-1. This was a revenge game for the Indians: when they faced off against the Raiders on May 7th, they had to take a 9-0 defeat.

As for Ryle, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 18-8-1 record. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

For Ryle's part, Laci DeLauder spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up nine Ks. DeLauder has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ryle saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Korlin Rechtin, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

As of now, neither Holy Cross nor the Raiders have any future games scheduled.
