It was fun while it lasted, but Caldwell's undefeated season came to an end after eight games on Sunday. The game between them and the Ridge Red Devil didn't end well, with the Caldwell Chiefs falling 41-25. The loss put an end to the Chiefs' undefeated start to the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Caldwell fell to 8-1. As for Ridge, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-2.

Caldwell and Ridge should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings. Caldwell (ranked 29th) will meet Millburn (ranked 171st) at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Similarly, Ridge will take on Franklin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday up 134 places (17 vs. 151).
