Softball Recap: Marlboro Academy Dragons vs. Conway Christian Eagles
Marlboro Academy stacked a fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 16-5 margin over the Conway Christian Eagles. The win was nothing new for Marlboro Academy as they're now sitting on five straight.
Peyten Giddens made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. Giddens was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now hit three or more in the last three games she's played.
In other batting news, Addison Ratley was incredible, going 4-for-5 with four runs, a triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Alli Miller, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5.
Marlboro Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3-1 record this season. As for Conway Christian, they haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Marlboro Academy will head out on the road to face off against Christ the Cornerstone Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Marlboro Academy is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
