Softball Recap: De Anza Falls to Concord in First Game of Season

De Anza kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against the Concord Bears, falling 12-2. The Dons were not able to make up for their loss to the Bears from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Riana Everetts was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, one stolen base, and one run. Those two triples gave her a new career-high.

The victory made it two in a row for Concord and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. De Anza will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on St. Patrick-St. Vincent at 4:00 p.m. on March 12th. As for Concord, they will square off against Alhambra at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
