After a string of four wins, St. John Paul II's good fortune finally ran out  on Wednesday. They fell  3-1 to the Falmouth Clippers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Clippers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  3-1  back in September.
 St. John Paul II started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 25-27, 25-22, 25-16,  25-15.
 Caitlin McGrail paced St. John Paul II's offense, picking up 12 kills. McGrail got some help from  Zlata Alioshka and her 24 assists. Alioshka was also solid from the service line:  she led the team with four aces.
St. John Paul II's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Falmouth,  the  win made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 7-10.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. St. John Paul II will  take on  rival Nauset Regional  at 5:30  p.m.  on Friday. Meanwhile, Falmouth is set to  square off against  their familiar foe Dennis-Yarmouth Regional  at 5:30  p.m.  on Monday.
