Recap: Cloverdale Eagles vs. Middletown Mustangs
There's no place like home for the Cloverdale Eagles, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Tuesday. It was close, but they ultimately received the gift of a 51-48 victory from a begrudging Eaglessquad. That's another feather in the cap for they, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Cloverdale had a senior duo take command as Jordan Patton scored 21 points and Diesel Cavallo scored 14 points.
Cloverdale's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.2 points per game. As for Middletown, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.
Cloverdale will head out on the road to face off against International at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. International presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Cloverdale in California (International is ranked 322nd, while Cloverdale is ranked 685th). Middletown will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Willits at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
