Football Game Preview: United Longhorns vs. Los Fresnos Falcons

Two dominant signal callers in Jorge Luna and Robert Pineda are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The United Longhorns will head out on the road to square off against the Los Fresnos Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

United is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 42-0 win over Judson. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Longhorns had established a 35-point advantage.

Colt Lozano was his usual excellent self, picking up 212 receiving yards and three scores. He showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 69 yards. Santiago Delgado did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 48 receiving yards.

Another reason for the win was United's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. They got some further help from Eric Hernandez: he picked up a sack and made 17 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Los Fresnos strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They put the hurt on Economedes with a sharp 35-10 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Falcons' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 109th, while the Jaguars are ranked 437th).

United better keep an eye on Tyler Stachowiak. He was instrumental in Los Fresnos' win, rushing for 73 yards and four TDs. That's the most rushing yards Stachowiak has posted since back in September. Lucky Perales did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 94 receiving yards.

United's record now sits at 9-2. As for Los Fresnos, their record is now 11-0.
