Soccer Game Preview: Statesville vs. East Lincoln

Statesville hasn't had much luck against East Lincoln recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Greyhounds are taking a road trip to challenge the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. Statesville has given up an average of 8 goals per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Statesville is headed into Monday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 13th straight game last Thursday. They came up short against Hickory, falling 9-0. That's two games in a row now that Statesville have lost by exactly nine goals.

East Lincoln, on the other hand, haven't lost since March 3rd and they too continued that trend. They never let West Iredell get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory on Friday. East Lincoln haven't had any issues with West Iredell recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

East Lincoln's victory bumped their record up to 16-1-2. As for Statesville, their loss dropped their record down to 0-13.

Statesville suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to East Lincoln in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Greyhounds avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
