Basketball Game Preview: Freedom Christian Academy Patriots vs. Caldwell Academy Eagles

The Freedom Christian Academy Patriots will head out on the road to take on the Caldwell Academy Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Caldwell Academy took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Freedom Christian Academy, who comes in off a win.

On Monday, Freedom Christian Academy made easy work of Oak City Prep and carried off a 124-100 win.

Freedom Christian Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Karsten Swinney, who dropped a double-double with 43 points and 12 assists. That's the most points Swinney has posted since back in November of 2024. Bryce West was another key player, putting up 39 points in addition to eight boards and seven assists.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Freedom Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 27 assists. They posted nine more assists than Oak City Prep's also-impressive total of 18.

Meanwhile, Caldwell Academy came up short against Forsyth Country Day on Thursday, falling 105-83. The loss was the Eagles' first of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Caldwell Academy fell to 3-1. As for Freedom Christian Academy, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Freedom Christian Academy took a serious blow against Caldwell Academy in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 97-70. Can the Patriots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
