Volleyball Game Preview: Rockville Rams vs. Coventry Patriots + Official Tickets

Rockville is 1-9 against Coventry since September of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Rams will square off against the Patriots at 6:00 p.m. Rockville will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

On Tuesday, Rockville made easy work of Suffield and carried off a 3-0 win.

Rockville not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Suffield between 14 and 17 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-17, 25-16.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Coventry, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They put the hurt on Canton with a sharp 3-0 victory on Tuesday.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Coventry took every set by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-10, 25-15.

Coventry's win came from a few key players Rockville will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Brooke White, who had 19 digs. That's the most digs she has posted over her last six matches. Beatrice Rizzi was another key player, getting ten digs and three aces.

Coventry was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in three consecutive contests.

Rockville's record is now 18-4. As for Coventry, their record now sits at 18-3.

Rockville came up short against Coventry in their previous meeting on October 9th, falling 3-1. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
