Basketball Recap: Cumberland Comes Up Short

Cumberland suffered their biggest defeat since December 5, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against the Buckingham Knights, falling 57-37. The Dukes were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Knights earlier this season, when they won 38-30.

Cumberland dropped their record down to 11-6 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Buckingham, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cumberland will square off against Nottoway at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Buckingham, they will face off against Amelia County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
