Basketball Recap: Minto Skates Past Birchwood Christian with Ease

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Minto's strategy against Birchwood Christian on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Minto Lakers blew the Birchwood Christian Warriors out of the water with a 58-16 final score. That looming 58-16 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Lakers yet this season.

Leading Minto to victory were Jena Smith and Tayla Baker. Smith posted 21 points, while Baker had 20 points. Smith continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Ruth Fox was another key player, putting up nine points.

The win got Minto back to even at 5-5. As for Birchwood Christian, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
