Baseball Game Preview: Vandalia Vandals vs. Dieterich Movin Maroons

The Vandalia Vandals will head out to face off against the Dieterich Movin Maroons at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Vandalia has given up an average of 6.9 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Things were looking good for Vandalia after they put the first run on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They came up short against Staunton, falling 15-5. The Vandals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Andrew Casey made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kohnor Depew, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Dieterich didn't have quite enough to beat Altamont on Friday and fell 2-1. That's two games in a row now that the Movin Maroons have lost by just one run.

Dieterich has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Vandalia, their loss dropped their record down to 8-14.
