Cathedral is 6-0 against Guerin Catholic since November of 2014 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Cathedral Fighting Irish will square off against the Guerin Catholic Golden Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Cathedral will be strutting in after a victory while Guerin Catholic will be coming in after a defeat.

Cathedral will head into Tuesday's matchup on the come-up: they were handed a heart-breaking two-point loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Zionsville on Tuesday. Everything went Cathedral's way against Zionsville as Cathedral made off with a 61-41 win. The Fighting Irish's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Jaeda Wilson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 of 12 on her way to 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Beasley, who posted eight points.

Meanwhile, Guerin Catholic came up short against Covenant Christian on Saturday and fell 69-61.

Cathedral will need focus on slowing down Ava Bills, one of several Guerin Catholic players who made an impact when they last played. She went 8 of 18 on her way to 18 points and three steals. Bills' afternoon made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Annie Murphy, who had 17 points and five assists.

Cathedral's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Guerin Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Thursday's contest will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Wilson and Bills. Wilson has been dynamite this season: she has averaged 12.3 points, 1.4 steals, and 4 boards. For her part, Bills has averaged 17.9 points, 2.9 steals, and 5.5 boards.

Cathedral strolled past Guerin Catholic in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 51-32. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cathedral since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
