Soccer Game Preview: East Henderson vs. Smoky Mountain

The East Henderson Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Smoky Mountain Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Smoky Mountain took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on East Henderson, who comes in off a win.

East Henderson proved they can win big on Friday (they won by three) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Pisgah. The win continues a trend for East Henderson in their matchups with Pisgah: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, Smoky Mountain was not quite Tuscola's equal in the second half on Monday. They fell just short of the Mountaineers by a score of 2-1. The loss continues a trend for Smoky Mountain in their meetings with Tuscola: they've now lost four in a row.

Smoky Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for East Henderson, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3-1 and their overall record up to 4-7-2.

East Henderson couldn't quite get it done against Smoky Mountain in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 4-2. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
