Football Game Preview: Mt. Enterprise Wildcats vs. Overton Mustangs + How To Watch

Mt. Enterprise has won five straight games at home, while Overton has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Wildcats will host the Mustangs at 1:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Mt. Enterprise is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Chilton 58-30. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 117th, while the Pirates are ranked 438th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mt. Enterprise had a senior duo take command as Kaegan Ash rushed for 165 yards and four touchdowns on only nine carries and Aadin Alsup rushed for 91 yards and a pair of scores. Ash is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last 21 games he's played dating back to last season. Joel Otwell was in the mix as well, providing Mt. Enterprise with one TD.

Mt. Enterprise was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 319 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 201 rushing yards in 19 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Overton blew past Goldthwaite, posting a 47-13 win.

Mt. Enterprise better keep an eye on Rylan Holleman. He was instrumental in Overton's win, rushing for 164 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry, and also throwing for 193 yards and three TDs. Holleman showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 65 yards. Another player making a difference was Gabriel Miller, who rushed for 118 yards and one score on only 13 carries.

Mt. Enterprise's victory bumped their record up to 12-0. As for Overton, their win bumped their record up to 8-4.

Mt. Enterprise strolled past Overton when the teams last played back in October by a score of 60-42. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Holleman, who rushed for 217 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.0 yards per carry, and also threw for 266 yards and a pair of TDs.
