Volleyball Recap: Cripple Creek-Victor Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Cripple Creek-Victor was the 3-1 winner over Creede when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Pioneers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Miners on Friday. The Pioneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Cripple Creek-Victor started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-9, 25-12, 25-14.

Madison Mead paced Cripple Creek-Victor's offense, picking up six kills. Mead got some help from Savannah Mead and her three assists. Finally, Madison was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Leading Creede to victory were Lea Philbern and Emma Jenkins. Philbern had 12 digs and three aces, while Jenkins had eight digs and three aces. That's the most aces Jenkins has posted since back in September.

Cripple Creek-Victor's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Creede, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Cripple Creek-Victor wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Nederland on the 25th. As for Creede, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Center on the 30th.
