Baseball Recap: Crescenta Valley's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Crescenta Valley waltzed into their match on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Hoover Tornados 10-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-0 last Tuesday.

Colin Moore looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Gunner Herman was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Dashiell Schultz, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Crescenta Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Crescenta Valley's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Hoover, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-4.

Looking ahead, Crescenta Valley will head out on the road to square off against Glendale at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hoover, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Burroughs at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
