Soccer Game Preview: Vicksburg vs. Columbus

The Vicksburg Gators will square off against the Columbus Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Vicksburg's last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

If Vicksburg beats Columbus with three goals on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. Vicksburg came out on top in a nail-biter against Morton on Tuesday, sneaking past 3-2. That's two games straight that the Gators have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Columbus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Neshoba Central by a score of 2-1.

Vicksburg's victory bumped their record up to 2-8-1. As for Columbus, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Vicksburg beat Columbus by a goal when the teams last played back in January, winning 3-2. Will Vicksburg repeat their success, or does Columbus have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
