Softball Recap: Woodland Beats Columbia River for Their Third Straight Victory

Woodland made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Columbia River, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Beavers were the clear victors by a 13-5 margin over the Rapids on Friday. The Beavers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

Addi Christensen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up five earned runs off six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-5. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Lexi Manalili was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brynn Skelton, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Woodland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win was the third in a row for Woodland, bringing their record up to 5-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Columbia River, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
