Baseball Game Preview: West Anchorage Eagles vs. Bartlett Golden Bears

The West Anchorage Eagles will challenge the Bartlett Golden Bears at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. The last four games West Anchorage has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Saturday, West Anchorage needed a bit of extra time to put away Dimond. They won by a run and slipped past the Lynx 9-8. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Owen Tierney, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Boots, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Bartlett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Eagle River, falling 9-2.

Bartlett's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for West Anchorage, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-9.

Everything went West Anchorage's way against Bartlett when the teams last played last Saturday, as West Anchorage made off with a 24-0 victory. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Golden Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
