Softball Recap: Irvington Takes a Loss

Irvington lost against Moreau Catholic back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Vikings lost 7-1 to the Mariners. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Irvington saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maya Briones, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Briones has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times she's played.

Irvington's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Moreau Catholic, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Irvington will take on rival Washington at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Moreau Catholic is set to face off against their familiar foe Mission San Jose at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
