Elkins posted their closest victory since May 8, 2025 on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Petersburg Vikings 4-3. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won three in a row.

The team relied heavily on Dyer Barger, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double and one RBI. Blayne Thompson was another key player, earning one run and two stolen bases.

Elkins' victory bumped their record up to 11-13. As for Petersburg, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-15.

Coincidentally, Elkins and Petersburg will both be playing Hampshire the next time they take the field. The Vikings will host the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Tigers will host them at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
