Baseball Recap: Fontainebleau Comes Up Short

Fontainebleau blew Chalmette out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Chalmette got their revenge. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Owls by a score of 2-0. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Owls earlier this season, when they won 7-1.

Fontainebleau moved to 11-10 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Chalmette, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 14-15.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fontainebleau will square off against Northshore at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Chalmette, they will face off against Slidell at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Owls' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
