Baseball Recap: Todd County Central Takes a Loss

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Todd County Central's offense. They lost 8-0 to the Caldwell County Tigers on Tuesday. If the Rebels were looking for revenge after losing 17-0 to the Tigers when the teams met back in May of 2016, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Tommy Vanbeber spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and seven unearned) runs on six hits.

At the plate, Todd County Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ty Jolly, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base. Conner Wheeler was another, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

With the loss, Todd County Central broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-9. As for Caldwell County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-4.

Looking ahead, Todd County Central will take on Hopkins County Central at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Caldwell County, they will challenge Trigg County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
