Recap: Show Low Cougars vs. Winslow Bulldogs
The Show Low Cougars can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They walked away with a 64-53 victory over Winslow. That's another feather in the cap for Show Low, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Leading Show Low to victory were Preston Power and Cameron Wallentine. Power scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks, while Wallentine shot 4-for-7 from deep and dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. Cohen Stoddard was another key contributor, scoring six points along with two steals.
Winslow's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lythel Baker, who scored ten points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Tyren Puhuhefvaya, who scored 12 points along with eight steals and five assists.
Show Low's win bumped their record up to 20-9. As for Winslow, their loss dropped their record down to 13-10.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Payson the next time they take the court. Winslow will head out to face Payson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Show Low will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
