Basketball Recap: Bowne Takes a Loss

The matchup between Bowne and Eagle Academy III on Tuesday hardly resembled the 47-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Wildcats were dealt an 85-56 loss at the hands of the Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 712th, while the Eagles are ranked 284th).

Bowne has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.1 points over those games. As for Eagle Academy III, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.

Coincidentally, Bowne and Eagle Academy III will both be playing Francis Lewis the next time they take the court. The Wildcats will host the Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Eagles will host them on Saturday.
