Baseball Recap: Harvest Christian Academy Sets Scoring Season-High Against Sacred Heart

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Harvest Christian Academy). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Sacred Heart Tigers a 19-0 shutout on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Saints, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Rollie Smith made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Harvest Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Oliver Pettit, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, three doubles, and two runs. Those three doubles gave Pettit a new career-high. Beau Tisworth was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.

Harvest Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .591. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory (which was Harvest Christian Academy's fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-6. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.5 runs over those games. As for Sacred Heart, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.
