Basketball Recap: West Hancock Comes Up Short

West Hancock lost against Forest City back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The West Hancock Eagles were dealt a 68-39 defeat at the hands of the Forest City Indians. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 292nd, while the Indians are ranked 49th).

This is the second loss in a row for West Hancock and nudges their season record down to 4-18. As for Forest City, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Hancock has already played their next matchup (against Fort Madison), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Forest City will take on Bishop Garrigan at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Forest City has won eight straight at home dating back to last season, while Bishop Garrigan won ten straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
