Basketball Game Preview: Meigs Marauders vs. Athens Bulldogs

The Meigs Marauders will face off against the Athens Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Meigs' favor as the team sits on 11 straight wins at home while Athens has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Last Saturday, Meigs earned a 77-68 win over Westfall. Given the Marauders' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while the Mustangs are ranked 589th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Athens hadn't done well against Logan recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Athens came out on top against Logan by a score of 47-35.

Meigs' victory bumped their record up to 19-1. As for Athens, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Meigs strolled past Athens when the teams last played back in January by a score of 60-45. Will Meigs repeat their success, or does Athens have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
