The Sequoia Ravens will face off against the Los Altos Eagles at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Sequoia 4, Los Altos 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Sequoia is returning to their home field after beating Capuchino on theirs, despite the fact Capuchino has dominated at home this season. The Ravens blew past the Mustangs 14-2 on Friday. With that win, the Ravens brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Morgan Winfield made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits (and not a single walk). He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Sequoia is 7-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 7-9 otherwise. Winfield was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Logan Mathias was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Sequoia's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 8-10 when he doesn't). Drew Ostrander was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.
Sequoia was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .472. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Los Altos was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wilcox.
Los Altos saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kai MacQuiddy, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Sequoia has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Los Altos, their loss dropped their record down to 17-7.
Sequoia came out on top in a nail-biter against Los Altos in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. Do the Ravens have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
