Basketball Recap: Crestview Comes Up Short

If Crestview was riding high fresh off their 53-20 takedown of Varsity Opponent last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Crestview Rebels were outmatched by the Toronto Red Knights and fell 60-22. The contest marked the Rebels' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Crestview saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tanner Guy posted ten points. Evan Neff was another key player, putting up three points and 11 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Crestview smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Crestview dropped their record down to 2-7 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Toronto, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crestview will square off against Champion at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Crestview is facing Champion at the right time seeing as Champion is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Toronto, they will challenge Brooke at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
