Basketball Recap: Pinecrest Academy Cadence Takes a Loss

If Pinecrest Academy Cadence was feeling good fresh off their 105-27 takedown of American Heritage Academy last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pinecrest Academy Cadence Cougars were outmatched by the Canyon Springs Pioneers and fell 84-56. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 76-37 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Martinique Brown, who went 8 for 14 en route to 19 points along with seven boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Nsikan Inwek, who posted eight points in addition to seven rebounds and four blocks.

Gregory Paige went supernova for Canyon Springs, going 11 of 18 on his way to 22 points. Paige is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for four straight games. Kory McRoy Jr was another key player, going 5 for 9 en route to 13 points.

Pinecrest Academy Cadence's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Canyon Springs, their record is now 8-10.

Pinecrest Academy Cadence has already played their next contest (against Southeast Career Tech), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Canyon Springs has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Palo Verde.
