OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. - After swapping the lead three times,
St. Martin (Ocean Springs, Miss.) took the lead for the win when
Tyler Polk ran for a touchdown in the third quarter, paving the way for victory over
Biloxi (Miss.) 49-28.
The Indians pulled ahead on a
Danny Lewis touchdown run, and subsequently went into halftime leading 21-14. The Yellowjackets scored the winning points with a touchdown run by Polk that came in the third quarter.
The win was a nice bounce back for St. Martin, which lost to Hattiesburg last week, 20-10. The defeat comes as a step back for Biloxi, which notched a 31-27 victory over Ocean Springs in its previous outing.
In a 6A Region 4 game next week St. Martin (6-3) takes on Ocean Springs, and Biloxi (4-4) will go up against Harrison Central also in a 6A Region 4 game.
