Recap: A.C. Reynolds Rockets vs. Freedom Patriots
The A.C. Reynolds Rockets had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Freedom by a score of 69-56 on Tuesday. A.C. Reynolds' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
A.C. Reynolds got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaelan Gilliland out in front who scored 23 points along with six rebounds. The game was Gilliland's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ty Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds.
A.C. Reynolds' victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Freedom, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A.C. Reynolds will face off against Hardin Valley Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Freedom, they will head out on the road to face off against Hickory at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hickory knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully Freedom likes a good challenge.
