Softball Recap: Knox Comes Up Short

Knox fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Bremen on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 5-4. The Redskins' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Cheryl Barnes spent all 8.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits.

At the plate, Addison Sponaugle was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-5 with one home run and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Karleigh Friedrich, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

Knox's loss dropped their record down to 12-15. As for Bremen, their record is now 10-16.

Knox does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Bremen has already played their next game (against Wawasee), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
