Softball Game Preview: Davis Pirates vs. Eisenhower Cadets

Davis hasn't had much luck against Eisenhower recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Pirates will venture away from home to challenge the Cadets at 4:00 p.m. Davis has given up an average of 21.1 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Davis is headed into Monday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 19th straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They lost 17-0 to Moses Lake. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Pirates' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

West Valley hit Eisenhower with a seven-run third inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cadets came up short against the Rams, falling 15-6. The Cadets just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Zoe Niblett was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicole Salmanca, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Eisenhower's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Davis, their loss dropped their record down to 0-16.

Davis might still be hurting after the 29-10 defeat they got from Eisenhower when the teams last played last Thursday. Can the Pirates avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
