Basketball Recap: Foothill Trojans vs. Del Oro Sun
The Foothill Trojans scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 70-68 victory over Del Oro. The win was some much needed relief for Foothill as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Diego Cabrera was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games. Fernando Sarabia was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Several Sun players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Keenan Starling, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josue Lopez-Perez, who scored 14 points.
Foothill's victory bumped their record up to 2-17. As for Del Oro, they dropped their record down to 5-21 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Foothill will challenge the Bears at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Del Oro, they will be playing at home against the Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
