Baseball Recap: Springfield Comes Up Short

Springfield was the 8-4 winner over Miamisburg when they last played one another on Wednesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Wildcats came up short against the Vikings on Friday, falling 14-1.

Springfield has also been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Miamisburg, they moved to 4-12 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Springfield will square off against Mechanicsburg at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Indians have averaged an impressive 9.9 runs per game this season. As for Miamisburg, they will face off against Chaminade Julienne Catholic at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.8 runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of.
