Softball Recap: Fountain Valley Takes a Loss

Fountain Valley fell victim to Marina and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 1-0 back in March.

Fountain Valley has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Marina, the win got them back to even at 11-11.

Fountain Valley and Marina will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Barons see the field they'll take on Huntington Beach at 6:00 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Marina, their break will end when they face Corona del Mar at 3:15 p.m. on the 24th.
