Basketball Recap: Harford Christian Comes Up Short

Harford Christian has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 48-36 to Mount Airy Christian Academy on Friday. If Harford Christian was looking for revenge after losing 31-18 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Mount Airy Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Avery Witter, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. Mount Airy Christian Academy is 5-2 when Witter posts eight or more boards, but 4-7 otherwise. Caroline Apolenis was another key player, putting up nine points and five rebounds.

Harford Christian's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Mount Airy Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-9 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Harford Christian will challenge Providence Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Mount Airy Christian Academy, they will square off against Redeemer Classical Christ at 4:45 p.m. on Monday.
