It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Coalinga had no problem doing just that on Friday. They beat the Taft Wildcats by a goal, winning 3-2. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but the Horned Toads were the better team in the second half.

Ernesto Villanueva Rodriguez and Jesus Ramirez scored all three of Coalinga's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 26 goals.

The win got Coalinga back to even at 12-12. As for Taft, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.

Looking ahead, Coalinga will challenge Strathmore at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Coalinga's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. Taft does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
