Baseball Recap: Mead Panthers vs. Mt. Spokane Wildcats

Mead was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Mt. Spokane Wildcats, falling 12-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-1 last Tuesday.

Mead saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Liam Reich, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base. Jase Rinck also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Mead's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Mt. Spokane, the win keeps they at an undefeated 4-0.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Mead will face off against rival Ridgeline at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Mt. Spokane is set to take on their familiar foe Central Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Mt. Spokane 1.8, Central Valley 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
