Basketball Recap: Foothill Falls Short Against Ranked Coronado

On Wednesday, Foothill faced Coronado in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Foothill Falcons were outmatched by the Coronado Cougars and fell 68-36. The Falcons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-14.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cordet Espinoza, who posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of AJ Gates, who had four points.

Foothill's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Coronado, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-10.

Foothill will venture away from home to square off against Las Vegas at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Coronado, they will square off against Whitney Young at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Coronado's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven matches.
