Softball Recap: Minneota Gets the Win

Minneota proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by ten) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Wheaton/Herman-Norcross Warriors 8-7.

Madison Hennen spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Izabelle Hulzebos, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Joelle Otto was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Minneota's win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Minneota wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 4-0 defeat against Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta on the 12th. As for Wheaton/Herman-Norcross, they will take on Brandon/Evansville at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
